Summary
She was born of Sharlayan, a modest girl with a jovial nature and an insatiable curiosity for the unknown.As a child of Thavnairian and Othardian immigrants, both with healthy professions in alchemy, Kishiko's interest in her parents' studies started early, nurtured with open arms by the fellow students she considered her extended family.Though their own studies regarded the benefits of alchemical intervention to enhance the lives of animals, the young girl's boundless ideas brought her to a question: If one could feasibly alter and speed up the evolution of a creature to bolster its capability to adapt, could we not apply the same logic to man?When Labyrinthos demanded more time, more bodies, and tireless studies, the vacant nature of her home became a noticeable weight of dread as she learned to fend for herself in the absence of her parents, quick to pick up on the necessary skills to keep herself afloat. Notes and studies became the songs that filled her silence, and eventually what seemed like a madman's ideas had been tempered, become frivolous even, and with glitter in her eyes and vials in her hands, she asked;What if we could become the perfect vision of ourselves?
The Beauty of Alchemy
After a series of unfortunate events that saw her shuttered out of a place in the Forum, Kishiko sought to bring her studies instead to those who may have want of them: the many people of Eorzea. Plagued are they by the damages of war and conquest, ill self image, or a want for something greater, and Kishiko wanted to be the answer to their problems.Her studies had taken her to a level of practice that allowed for body alteration on the long term; no longer a temporary solution or a simple glamour, though she could make plenty of those, too.The proof of her practice lies in her own appearance: where once was a dearth of scales and dull blue hair now sweeps swathes of sunset ombre and pearlescent plated scales. At the tips of a fair number of scales on her body is a pink fade, fin-shaped horns with a curl like a shell on the inner curve resting gently against her hair.Though her practices may be for the benefit of others, nothing so gratuitous and self serving is without its own costs, even if her gentle aura and exuberant demeanor beg otherwise.

♥ Most of those who knew of her in Sharlayan would scarcely recognize her as the girl she is today, a complete contrast to the mousy, dull-haired and utterly plain woman who tirelessly studied alchemy. Those that do recall Kishiko at all might faintly remember that her branch of alchemic studies were often discouraged for their frivolity, and she lost her seat in the Forum merely two months after having earned it.♥ She loves to spar and finds it to be a great exercise in one's restraint, but she's pathetically sensitive to pain and quite unaccustomed to the rather brutal ways Eorzeans tend to take part of what she experienced as a clinical and controlled sport. It is said that she can be rather fierce when given full run of her magical ability, if she's in the right mindset.♥ Rarely the adventurer's guilds have the pleasure(?) of displaying fliers advertising her bizarre alchemic services, but due to the intimate nature of her work and how often she must stay in contact with a client's progress, she only takes a small number of orders at a time.♥ Unbeknownst to herself, she possesses a form of the Echo. The blessing manifests in an ability to view desire as an element that grows and shifts within a person's soul, and though this does not tell her exactly what one might want, it does give insight into what a person might truly be feeling in response to their current situation. This ability is not inherent, but similar to the echo of those who can peer into past memories. In the presence of a desire that is overwhelmingly strong, she can't help but be forced to acknowledge it. To her, this "quirk" is more of a curse, and has lost her friendships in the past.
